Possible food and drug interactions when taking this medication
Seizures: - During clinical trials, the overall incidence of seizures was 0.15% in patients treated with paroxetine. However, patients with a history of convulsive disorders were excluded from these s
tudies. Caution is recommended when the drug is administered to patients with a history of seizures. The drug should be discontinued in any patient who develops seizures.

Overdose
Overdose attempts have been reported with paroxetine; up to 850 mg alone and in combination with other agents. In cases where paroxetine was used alone, no deaths have occurred and recovery was medica
lly uneventful.
Symptoms of overdosage with paroxetine include nausea, vomiting, tremor, dilated pupils, dry mouth and irritability. There are no reports of ECG abnormalities, coma or convul
sions following overdosage with paroxetine alone.

Precautions while Using this Medicine
The presence of other medical problems may affect the use of Paxil. Make sure you tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems, especially:
- Brain disease or damage or
- Mental r
etardation or
- Epilepsy or seizures (history of)¡XThe risk of seizures may be increased.
- Glaucoma, narrow angle¡XPatients with this condition should use Paxil with caution.
- Heart d
ease or
- Heart attack, recent¡XUse must be determined by your doctor.
- Kidney disease, severe, or
- Liver disease, severe¡XHigher blood levels of Paxil may occur, increasing the chanc
of side effects

Side Effects
If you experience any of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately:
- jaw, neck, and back muscle spasms
- slow or difficult speech
- shuffling walk
- persistent fin
e tremor or inability to sit still
- fever, chills, sore throat, or flu-like symptoms
- difficulty breathing or swallowing
- severe skin rash
- yellowing of the skin or eyes
